April has been so full and we’re so thankful for that 💜

As we shared, our Easter celebration was incredible and impactful! We’re so thankful to be on mission with Jesus at the center.

Some highlights from the rest of the month.. 👇

⚽️ Weekly soccer training was held for our OA students wanting to better their skills! We have so many talented kiddos that are continuing to show up and work hard to get better. This is just one of our many after school activities that our students can participate in!

🫶 The OA Parents’ Committee participated in a training session on child protection, aimed at deepening their understanding of its meaning, significance, and role in safeguarding children’s well-being. Through interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, and case-based learning, participants gained insights into identifying risks and vulnerabilities that children may face, including neglect, abuse, and exploitation. The session also covered the responsibilities of parents and guardians in ensuring children’s safety, as well as the importance of collaborating with schools, teachers, and the wider community to strengthen child protection efforts. By equipping the OA Parents’ Committee with this knowledge, the training aimed to empower them to take an active role in monitoring and supporting child protection initiatives, ensuring that children receive the care and protection they need to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment!

📝 A Project Teachers Coalition (PTC) meeting was conducted with representatives from partner schools, focusing on strengthening collaboration in education and child welfare. A specialized training session on child protection was provided to six teachers and school directors from partner institutions. The primary goal of the training was to enhance participants’ understanding of child protection, emphasizing its fundamental concepts, significance, and practical applications within the school environment. Through interactive discussions and case-based learning, the training aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to create safe and supportive learning spaces, identify potential risks to children’s well-being, and implement appropriate protective measures.

We are so thankful to have incredible staff that is pouring into our OA students and their families daily and in many different ways! We are also so thankful for people like YOU that are investing in this mission and the in the community of Korah 💜

With gratitude,
The Out of the Ashes Team
