Why We Do It: OA Success Stories (Vol. 5)

Zeleke’s Story.

When we asked for help this past Summer, you all responded incredibly expediently and amazingly generously. We needed to raise emergency funds for urgently needed food for our OA Families in Korah, who were dealing with shortages in the wake of the ongoing Pandemic.

Below is the story of one of the recipients of the food distribution that our Staff facilitated, made fully possible by generous hearts like all of yours.

When we say we couldn’t do what we do without you, we really and truly mean it.

This is Zeleke’s Story:

“I am Zeleke, Endale and Adane’s dad. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for OA and the donors for the food support we received today as a parent and parents’ committee member. We are very thankful for our donors for stretching out their hands to support us despite they are under lockdown and staying home due to Covid-19. We really appreciate all the effort they put to make this food support happen.

As a parent committee member, my gratefulness is not just about me but also all families who received this food support. May God bless them graciously! They have been a reason for us to thank God. I really hope and pray for God to protect our supporters from Covid-19 and grant healing for their land. We will keep them in our prayers for God to put His protection over them. May God protect us all from the current Covid-19 outbreak!

In addition, I would like to appreciate and thank the local staff working in the OA country office for serving us without hesitation amidst this Covid-19 pandemic. They are serving us without any reservation sacrificing their safety and risking their lives like medical professionals. They stood up with us via different interventions such as awareness creation among the beneficiaries and facilitating this food support in collaboration with our donors and sponsors. I would like to thank the local OA staff and our donors on behalf of the students, parents, and parents’ committee.

God bless you all with all his graciousness.”
