Where Hope Takes Root

Building Bright Futures!

It has been an exciting month at Out of the Ashes! Our students explored new opportunities, deepened their faith, and strengthened their confidence through powerful learning experiences. Here’s a look at some of the highlights that made this month so special!

🏥 Students Experience the World of Medicine at Washington Medical Hospital

The annual Out of the Ashes Motivational Trip was an unforgettable journey into the heart of healthcare! This year, our students visited the prestigious Washington Medical Hospital, where they were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and professionalism.

From the moment they entered the hospital, students were immersed in a world of learning — observing and exploring every department in action. They gained hands-on insight into the vital work that happens daily across the hospital:

  • How patients are received and registered at reception

  • The cutting-edge technology behind MRI and CT Scans

  • The science and precision within the laboratory

  • The life-saving procedures taking place in the ICU

Each stop along the tour revealed the dedication, teamwork, and skill that keep a hospital running smoothly. The students left deeply inspired — some even imagining themselves one day walking these same halls as medical professionals!

✝️ Bible Lessons with Child Evangelism Fellowship Volunteers

We were blessed to have volunteers from the Child Evangelism Fellowship lead engaging Bible lessons for our elementary students this month. The sessions were thoughtfully divided into two groups based on grade level:

Group 1 (Grades 1–5):
Students learned that the Bible is more than just an old book — it’s the living Word of God that stands forever. They discovered how Scripture reveals God’s truth and guides us in living according to His will.

Group 2 (Grades 6–8):
This lesson focused on the attributes of God, helping students grow in their understanding of who He is –> God is Present Everywhere, God is Righteous & God is Trustworthy!

These sessions reminded students that God’s Word is alive, true, and deeply relevant to their daily lives!

💬 Girls’ Club: Standing Strong Against Peer Pressure

Our monthly Girls’ Club training centered on the important topic of Handling Peer Pressure. Elementary and high school girls came together to explore how peer influence can affect their choices — and how they can stay confident and true to themselves.

Through interactive discussions and role-playing, the girls practiced strategies like:

  • Saying “no” with confidence

  • Choosing supportive friends

  • Seeking guidance from trusted adults

  • Staying firm in their values and goals

By the end of the training, participants left feeling empowered to make positive decisions and to encourage others to do the same!

From exploring career paths and deepening faith, to building confidence and resilience, our students continue to rise — one experience at a time.

Thank you for being part of this journey of hope and transformation.

With gratitude,
The Out of the Ashes Team
